Navigating Allergens Outside the Home

Food allergies don’t stay at home - they show up everywhere your child goes. From school and birthday parties to playdates and camps, navigating food allergies in the outside world can feel overwhelming for parents and caregivers. This workshop is designed to help you approach these everyday situations with more clarity and confidence.

Led by Shira Sussi, a registered dietitian specializing in food allergies and family nutrition, this session brings both professional expertise and real-life understanding. We’ll cover how to communicate clearly with teachers, caregivers, and other parents; how to ask the right questions without feeling awkward; and how to plan ahead so your child can safely participate and feel included. You’ll learn practical strategies for reducing cross-contact risk, packing backup options, and creating flexible routines that work in real life.
